Blue Cheese, Walnut and Thyme Pull Apart Puff Pastry Twirl

A savory and flaky puff pastry filled with creamy blue cheese, crunchy walnuts, and aromatic thyme, perfect for entertaining or as an appetizer.

For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 100g blue cheese, crumbled
  • 50g walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
  3. Brush the pastry lightly with olive oil, then sprinkle evenly with blue cheese, walnuts, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Roll the pastry tightly from the long side into a log, then slice into 1-inch thick rounds.
  5. Place the rounds on the prepared baking tray, slightly apart, and brush the tops with beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Serve warm.
