  • 1/2 cup black cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, black cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Drop tablespoonfuls of cookie dough onto baking sheets. Make an indentation in each and fill with cheesecake mixture. Swirl gently.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring.
