Black Pepper Chicken with Mushrooms

A quick and flavorful stir-fry with tender chicken, earthy mushrooms, and a bold black pepper sauce.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, mix chicken with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and black pepper. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add marinated chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes until browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  5. Return chicken to the pan. Stir in chicken broth and cornstarch mixture. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  6. Garnish with green onions and serve hot over rice.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
