For the Crust:
- 2 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 pre-made pie crust (9-inch)
- 1 tablespoon butter, cubed
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 9-inch pie dish with the pre-made crust and crimp the edges.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and butter. Gently fold in strawberries. Pour mixture into the pie crust.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Let cool completely before serving.
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
