For the Crust:
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp horseradish
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. In three separate bowls, place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dredge each shrimp in flour, dip in egg, then coat thoroughly in the seasoned breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- For the sauce, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl until smooth.
- Serve hot shrimp immediately with the special dipping sauce on the side.
