Best Crispy Cajun Shrimp with Special Dipping Sauce

Succulent shrimp coated in a crispy, spicy Cajun breading, served with a tangy and creamy dipping sauce that perfectly balances the heat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp horseradish
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. In three separate bowls, place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dredge each shrimp in flour, dip in egg, then coat thoroughly in the seasoned breadcrumb mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  4. For the sauce, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl until smooth.
  5. Serve hot shrimp immediately with the special dipping sauce on the side.
