  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix buttermilk with 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning. Add shrimp and marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour, remaining Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 375°F. Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  4. Fry shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. For the sauce, whisk together mayonnaise, hot sauce, honey, and lemon juice. Serve shrimp hot with dipping sauce.
