Apple Fritter Bites

Delicious bite-sized apple fritters with a crispy exterior and tender, cinnamon-spiced apple filling.

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples (peeled and cored)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  3. Fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed in the batter.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of the batter into the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. While still warm, dust the fritter bites with powdered sugar or drizzle with a simple glaze.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
