For the Crust:
- 2 lbs chicken wings, split into drumettes and flats
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Pat wings dry and toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 25 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and cooked through.
- Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, hoisin, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer.
- Mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry, then whisk into the sauce. Cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Toss cooked wings in the sauce until evenly coated. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
